TO OUR FAN FIC WRITERS:
We rarely write to you fan fic writers other than at fan fic awards
time, so you know it's got to be something BIG and something important
for us to be writing to all of you.
The new TV season is about to unfold, and there are some terrific
shows on tap. Two have already started, including Californication
on Showtime. We have opened new web sites for TEN of these
new shows, and each site has fan fiction and a forum.
The fan fiction software is the "next generation" of
what you use on L-word.com. It has added features, such as a true
Book/Chapter feature! Also, all of the new sites are tied into our
myFandoms.com site, so that
when fan fic is added to any of the show sites, it also gets added
to myFandoms.com, for even
greater visibility and readership!
We are very excited about the new shows and sites, and
we would like to invite YOU--the fan fic writers who have been with
us all these years--to have the first look at the new sites and
shows. We know not everyone will like everything, of course,
but hopefully you'll find some new favorites and will join us on
the new sites and contribute fan fic there, in addition to your
L-word.com fan fic writing.
Here is a list of the new show and the links to the sites:
- Bionic Woman--amazing,
isn't it?! How many of you grew up with a Lindsey Wagner crush?
;-)
- Californication--David
Duchovny plays a writer who has screwed up his relationship and
is trying to make it right. We already love this show!
- Cane--this looks like
the blockbuster drama of the season. Think Dallas with
a rich Cuban-American family with a rum and sugar cane business
in Florida. Jimmy Smits stars.
- Cashmere Mafia--"Sex
in the City" with the fashion industry and a LESBIAN character
on network TV?!
- Dirty Sexy Money--
with Peter Krause from Six Feet Under and Billy Baldwin
and Jill Clayburgh, this looks like it will give Cane a run for
the drama of the season.
- Flash Gordon--oh,
you sci fi fans must be in heaven!
- Private Practice--a
Grey's Anatomy spin off!
- Pushing Daisies--a
blend of romance, crime procedural and high-concept fantasy with
Kristin Chenowith and Swoosie Kurtz.
- Reaper--another
one for the sci-fi, fantasy, horror crowd.
- Torchwood--on
BBC America, this is a spin-off from the popular sci-fi show Doctor
Who, following a group of investigators who specialize in alien
technology that has landed on Earth, and crime, whether it be
alien or human.
Also, we've opend a fan fic site for Heroes.
We appreciate all your contributions to the L Word fandom, and
hope that as you find more shows that you become fans of, you'll
consider joining the fandoms on our new sites and contributing fan
fic to them, as well. Also PLEASE TELL YOUR FRIENDS about
these sites! Our best hope of getting the new sites busy
is through your help, and we appreciate it!
Thanks so much!
