Jennifer, Jennifer…you are full of surprises. And no, I don’t
mean Jennifer Schecter; though she keeps surprising me again and
again in season 5. I went from rolling my eyes at her, to feeling
sorry for her, to rooting for her; but that’s not the focus
of this article.
I actually mean Jennifer Beals, who has mentioned many times that
she is a very private person who feels shy among huge group of fans.
The surprise is that Jennifer is the first guest who was announced
to attend the future L5 Starfury Convention, which will be held
in Blackpool, England on November 14-16, 2008.
I personally want to say thanks to Laurel Holloman who mentioned
at L3 Convention that Jennifer was curious about it and asked her
many questions and I believe that Laurel played a certain role in
persuading Jennifer to appear. I’m pretty sure that Laurel’s
excitement and enthusiasm about L Word conventions broke down the
barriers of shyness that kept Jennifer Beals from signing up before.
Secondly, a huge thanks to Sean Harry for making it possible to
get Jennifer Beals as a guest for the convention. This is so exciting
that even the location of the convention won’t stop me and
many other fans from attending. Yes, to be honest, I didn’t
care that much for Blackpool last year in terms of food, weather
or the hotel but if it means a chance to see good friends, attend
a great convention and meet Jennifer Beals – nothing else
matters. Not to me, anyway.
The three-day convention will feature guests’ Q&A’s,
photo and autograph sessions, competitions and parties. Jennifer
Beals is only one of the guests and more will be announced soon.
The first 120 Gold tickets that allow their holders to attend a
special Meet & Greet, have been already sold out but there are
many regular tickets left that will get you access to everything
else.
Honestly, I think for many fans it might be the only chance in
life to see Jennifer Beals in person, shake her hand, talk to her
and take a picture with her, so hurry up and book your tickets now.
Who knows, there might be surprises and Laurel Holloman will be
invited as well and every TiBetter’s dream will come true:
B&T together in the same place at the same time!!
