 Episode Summary

The L Word Episode 5.11 - "Lunar Cycle "
_______

Episode 511 - Lunar Cycle

This week on The PMS Word.

Previously on The L Word, stuff happened and Adele has aspirations.

Showtime presents... Jenny watches with some other woman, a Lez Girls
reenactment of the Tina Turns Over The Table scene in Life, Loss, Leaving.
With a Jenzilla twist, of course. There goes the table and now the TiBette
version as the table is forgotten and Bev/Nina (Bette/Tina) give each other
a hug and the rest of the girls talk about them being the greatest couple
ever. Yeah, pick on arguably the largest contingent of L Word fans, good
idea. It's not the show's comin' to an end or any...oh yeah.

The L Word Theme and I'd like to see the words at the bottom of the screen
with that little karaoke ball. Just to jazz itup a little.

The Group Of Friends talk at the Planet about Jodi and Tom hanging out at
some friend's place, possibly Amy. Everyone's griping today and we have
our first PMS mention, as Kit and Max bond over a lack of menstruation.
Dawn/Cindi arrive and we have our second PMS mention. Ivan is brought up
by the SheBar women and inform the gang that Ivan has gleefully sold her
51% ownership of the Planet to them. Kit's not happy as she turns the
table over and yells obscenities. They leave and Jodi arrives for more
melodrama. Tina tries to talk to Jodi and Jodi just dismisses her
coldlike. Jodi goes alpha on Bette and they leave.

Jodi and Bette walk outside in matching outfits and while there is
something going on here, I'm more interested in the background scenery and
the ghostlike movements of the extras. There one second, gone the next.
Stuff like that humors me. Bette gives us our third PMS mention of this
episode. Bette reschedules appointements for later so she and Jodi can
work out issues.

Shane and Max talk with Tina. They talk about whatever and Tina leaves.

Bette walks in and cries so fantasy players can score points. Jodi walks
in and doesn't agree with Bette crying. Jodi's in the dark on what
happened between Bette and Tina. For Bette, it's not about the sex.

*chuckle*

Granted, Bette could be saying all this because she's P....nah, let the
show go that route, I'll play nice. Jodi doesn't seem to buy Bette's
explanations about love and Angelica and being home and so on, but asks
Bette if she loves Tina. Bette says yes as TiBetters everywhere throw
confetti at their Ilene dartboards. Bette then says she loves Jodi. Well,
if this were softcore, there'd be an easy solution to this. Jodi says
she's gonna fight for Bette. No, Jodi!!!! RUN AWAY WHILE YOU HAVE A
CHANCE!!!

Alice/Tasha go home shopping and Tasha is such a man in this scene. Alice
hopes Tasha bleed soon. Well that's our fourth PMS mention.

Jodi is now crying and Bette tries to comfort her. She apologizes for the
breakdown, but it's Bette and you can't help but break down around her. So
Jodi begins her fight by kissing on her and so such. Aannnnd we they start
makin' out.

Tina arrives at work, reading a message from Bette about missing her. She
gets a message from someone who probably won a contest to say a line on The
L Word about a twelve minute warning. The DP lady talks with Tina, but
then Aaron The Boss arrives. Onto the conference room!

We've got Niki's agents, Adele, Jenny, Tina and Aaron all gathered for some
tape viewing. Adele plays Jenny/Niki having storytime together. Wait, who
the Hell was holding the camera during this??? Did Mark show up? Adele
has twenty five more copies ready to go to a bunch of media types, but
decides to use it as blackmail to take over Lez Girls. Wow, she really is
a fan of that story. Adele is just wonderful here. Jenny wants to play
her William The Boss Boss card, but Adele has him on her side. Tina asks
what Adele wants, as if we need to wonder!!!

Bette/Jodi make out and the phone rings. Jodi doesn't have time for
interruptions from stupid phones and Bette wants this to end. She can't do
this! She doesn't want to do this with Jodi! Well of course not, Bette
you wanna do it with Tina. Bette says she's going to fight for this
relationship. Oy... Bette/Jodi agree to go to CU, where Bette needs to go
in order to do work stuff, so they can continue their fighting for each
other and whatnot.

Back to the set as everyone readies. Jenny shows up and wants Niki to
leave the set with her, explaining what happened with the tape. Kevin the
agent arrives to stop Jenny from talking to Niki. Jenny addresses the
agents and leadership, calling them soulless and bad. This irony is
delicious. Jenny wants people to leave with her as a form of protest. No
one's with her...except Shane. Tina wants to walk Jenny out, so they can
talk. Jenny pleads with Niki to leave with her, but Niki has a career to
think about so she stays. Aaron points us out to our new director as
everyone asks who it is and he goes, "Dude, you're getting Adele."

Sorry, been wantin' to say that. No PMS mentions in this scene.

Alice/Tasha as Tasha's testosterone begins to rise over not being to split
good rent with Alice down the middle. Hey look! Alice/Tasha no longer
have to deal with melodrama, so they've had new melodrama thrust upon them!
I feel like I've seen this before.

Tina is with Jenny and does her best to talk to some to Jenny. Niki is
dead to Jenny. Tina knows what it's like to feel that and Jenny questions
as such. Jenny, no pressing your luck. But Tina wins Jenny over by
calling Adele a bitch and saying this is, "our movie." So they give each
other a hug.

Adele is directing as we go back to Pilot with Jenny/Marina
kissing....er...Jesse/Karina kissing. Adele's a real natural at this.
I'll say it now, Adele Chambers is the MVP of Season 5. Tina tries calling
Bette, but no answer. For a second, I think Lei Ling's threatening Tina
again.

The Look with Sondra Houston and Mary Lamb...and Alice! Wait...Mary Lamb?
When she gives birth, will she have a little Lamb? Alice and Mary have
some smiling tension as homophobia and heterophobia come head to head.

Kit breaks out her peacemaker and ponders whether or not it's time to cap
some people. She gets in her car and goes for a drive. Just her and Mista
Pistol.

Androgynous Fashion show on The Look, the Look, the Loooook. And we're
introduced to Clea Mason. Wow, they've cloned a nervous version of Lara.
And I do mean nervous. But Alice helps her through the otherwise awkward
interview.

*pause*

"Oh Hell...here we go again." -Harry Gant, in the movie Stroker Ace

*unpause*

Tina and Shane talk in Tina's office as Jenny's been fired from her own
movie. Had they stayed with this idea from the start, everything would be
fine. Tina explains that Niki did the right thing, but Shane disagrees,
'cause it's all about love. Like Shane would know what's best for that.

Bette/Jodi are stuck in traffic in a way that causes them to not receive
phone calls as well.

Kit leaves Bette a message about doing something bad. Not in a good way as
she's close to SheBar.

Bette/Jodi finally arrive at CU and James exists!!! Phyllis is in
Sacramento. James tells the not so happy couple about a photo shoot for W
magazine for an article on power lesbian couples in the artworld. Jodi
says yes, Bette says no.

The Look, the Look, the Loooooooooooook...as the show wraps up. Voting on
whether Alice gets to be on the show will be soon. Alice talks with Clea.
Clea invites Alice and Clea's accent is all over the place. She's like
Amerinadistralian or something. Tasha's there! Clea departs and Alice
talks with Tasha and things are lovey dovey. FOR NOW!!! DUN DUN
DUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN...

Bette arrives in her office with Jodi waiting. They argue over the
magazine and shoot and their status as a couple. Bette wants to fight for
a friendship with Jodi. Jodi's not interested in that. Bette doesn't
think therapy's the answer. Yeah, did wonders for her relationship with
Tina. I think this is Bette breaking up with Jodi. James arrives to
inform Bette that some mysterious person named Melissa can't pick up
Angelica.

Tina talks with three of the girls from the movie who don't like the idea
of Adele directing. Bette calls and needs someone to pick up Angelica.

All this chaos and disorder gives us prevention of further chaos and
disorder as Kit sneaks into the back of SheBar, ready to smoke some fools
BEEEYAAATCH, but the Angelica ringtone prevents it from happening. Cindi
meanwhile does not look happy with her lot in life. Kit backs away and
talks in a whisper. Bette needs Kit to pick up Angelica. And because Tina
waaaaaaaaaaaay back in Season 2 decided to go through with another
pregnancy, Cindi is not lying in a pool of her own blood.

Bette and Jodi talk some more and Jodi wants to get her stuff from Bette's
house.

Shane & Jenny get high and damn the man, man! Damn the man! "Only Women
Bleed" by Alice Cooper plays and considering all the PMS mentions, that's
just funny. Jenny and Shane don't like Niki or Adele anymore. Jenny has
cramps. Well, then... Shane admires Jenny as the real survivor.
Considering all she's destroyed, that's not saying much. It's like
crediting a military force for surviving a successful ambush attack against
a small village. Jenny compliments Shane for being a great friend and all
that.

Next door, Jodi's got her stuff and is ready to go as soon as Tom shows up.
So is this the opposite of U-Hauling? Jodi gives Bette her birthday
present early. Jodi leaves and Bette opens it up. It's a Tag Heuer watch.
Not to say it's expensive, but jeez, that's like two or three weekends with
Eliot Spitzer right there.

Max arrives and Jenny & Shane credit Max with being right all along. Max
gets high with the best friends forever club.

Kit's at the Planet like nothing happened. Okay nothing DID happen. Kit
shows up in her office with some food for Angelica to discover Angelica
playing with a loaded gun. Kit carefully takes the gun back and begins to
break down as she almost stupidly let Angie possibly kill herself. And
just before Tina and Bette arrive, too! Kit tosses the LOADED WEAPON into
the trashbin out back as Bette/Tina arrive (seperate entrances). Kit
thinks the most important thing is Angie being wtih Mama Bee and Mama Tee.
They have no idea and Kit's good to not say a word. Bette asks Tina if she
wants to come home and she says yes.

One more episode for Season 5 remains and then eight more for the series.
The lesson learned here is that guns are bad. BAD!!! But the real lesson
is that stupid people shouldn't have guns.

"Have a good day."
